Properties: Sweet, Cold

Common: Musk Mallow Seeds, Abutilon Seeds

Latin: Semen Abutilonis Seu Malvae

Functions:

• To promote urination and regulate abnormal urination;
• To promote lactation;
• To moisten intestines and move feces

Indications & Combinations:

• Dysuria and edema. Dongkuizi is used with Fuling and Baizhu.

• Scanty urine with blood and painful urination. Dongkuizi is used with Cheqianzi, Haijinsha and Huashi.

• Obstructed lactation and breast distension. Dongkuizi is used with Sharen and Tongcao.

• Constipation. Dongkuizi is used with herbs that moisten intestines and move feces, such as Danggui, Taoren and Baiziren.

Dosage:

• 9-15 g
