Actions: Dispels wind and stops pain: external wind-cold, especially with sinus or Yangming headache, supraorbital pain and sinus congestion.
Reduces pus and swelling: for early stages of surface level sores. This herb can reduce swelling and/or help to discharge pus. Also used for damp and discharge in the lower burner.

Contraindications: This herb is drying, do not use in cases of yin/blood Deficiency. Traditional sources say this herb antagonizes Flos Inulae (xuan fu hua).

Dosage: 3-9g. used part: single root, no branches.
