Latin: Fructus Psoraleae Corylifoliae
Actions:
- To tonify kidneys and strengthen yang;
- To prevent emissions and nocturnal urination;
- To warm the spleen and stop diarrhea
- Recently used topically for vitiligo
Indications & Combinations:
- Deficient kidneys manifested as impotence and soreness and weakness of the lower back and knees. Bu Gu Zhi is used with Tu Si Zi, Rou Cong Rong and Du Zhong.
- Nocturnal urination and emissions due to kidney deficiency. Buguzhi is used with Yi Zhi Ren and Shan Yao.
- Diarrhea due to deficiency of yang of the spleen and kidneys. Bu Gu Zhi is used with Wu Zhu Yu, Rou Dou Kou and Wu Wei Zi in the formula Sishen Wan.
Dosage: 5-10 g
Cautions & Contraindications:
- This herb is contraindicated in cases with deficiency of yin with excessive fire as well as constipation
