Actions:

  • Clears heat and reduces toxicity: for the beginning stages of sores and swellings, especially in the breast. Treats mastitis, swelling, pain, and abscess in the breast due to heat.
  • Promotes lactation: for lack of milk secretion and breast distention, especially when caused by heat.

Contraindications:

  • Contraindicated during pregnancy and in patients with Qi deficiency.

Dosage:

  • 3-12g. Part used = root.
