Actions:

  • Relieves toxins and reduces dampness: for urinary tract infections, damp-heat jaundice, syphilis, and joint pain or rheumatoid arthritis.
  • Clears the skin: good for treating chronic and recurrent damp-heat skin disorders or acute skin lesions caused by heat.

Contraindications:

  • Contraindicated in cases of liver and kidney Yin deficiency. Some traditional sources do not recommend taking this herb with tea.

Dosage:

  • 15-60g. Part used = rhizome.
