Properties: Bitter, Cold

Common: Cortex of Chinese Dittany Root

Latin: Cortex Dictamni Dasycarpi Radicis

Actions:

  • Clears heat and expels wind: for sores from damp-heat or wind-heat including scabies, rubella, and other rashes. Especially useful in cases of profuse yellow pus and pruritus.
  • Used in conjunction with other herbs to treat damp-heat jaundice or bi pain.

Contraindications:

  • Caution in cases of cold from deficiency of the spleen and stomach.

Dosage:

  • 6-9g. Part used = bark.
