Properties: Spicy, Bitter, Warm, Aromatic
English Translation: Aged Peel

Common: Tangerine Peel

Latin: Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae

Actions:

  • Regulate the Qi and harmonize the middle burner
  • Dry dampness and transform phlegm

1.     Qi stagnation in middle burner; distension, bloating, belching; e.g. with Zhi Ke, Mu Xiang, Xiang Fu, Bai Shao

2.     Phegm-damp in middle Burner; nausea, vomiting, lose appetite, loss stool, a thick, greasy tongue coating; e.g. with Bai Zhu, Fu Ling, Da Fu Pi

3.     Phlegm-damp in Lung cause cough with phlegm, oppressive chest; e.g. Er Chen Tang, with Ban Xia, Fu Ling, Gan Cao

Dosage:

  • 3-9g

Addendum

1.     Ju Hong: it is more dry phlegm, and warm Lung

2.     Ju Ye: it is regulate Liver Qi and dissipate the breast fibroid

3.     Ju Luo; dry phlegm and smooth Lung Qi, for cough with chest pain
