Common: Sandalwood (Heartwood)

Latin: Lignum Santali Albi

Actions:

  • Promote the movement of Qi, and alleviate pain
  • Warm chest and stomach

1.     Cold and Qi stagnation cause stomachache, flank distention and pain; e.g. with Wu Yao, Mu Xiang, Sha Ren

2.     Chest pain due to Yang Qi and blood stasis, recently used in treating coronary artery diseases.

  • 1.5-3g
