Actions: Expels wind-cold and stops headache: Used especially for vertex headache, or headache that travels from the vertex to the cheeks and teeth. Expels wind and stops pain: for joint pain, arthritic pain, and abdominal pain due to wind and cold. Treats both ends of the Du Mai: can treat acute lower back pain from exterior wind-cold invasion.
Contraindications: This herb is very drying, caution in patients with yin or blood Deficiency.
Dosage: 3-9g. Used parts = root and rhizome.
