Properties: Sweet, Bitter, Cold

Common: White Mulberry Leaf

Latin: Folium Mon Albi

Actions:

  • Disperses wind and heat: used when wind-heat affects the lungs, causing either a dry cough or expectoration of thick, yellow sputum. Also for headache, sore throat, and fever.
  • Clears heat in the liver channel: for eye problems from heat in the liver channel or liver yin deficiency.
  • Cools blood and stops bleeding: for mild cases of vomiting with blood.

Contraindications:

  • Caution in cases of cold in the lungs, or lung qi Deficiency.

Dosage:

  • 4.5-15g. Use as an external wash for eye problems. Part used = leaf.
