Actions:

• Clears damp heat: for dysentery, diarrhea, and hemorrhoids.
• Clears heat from deficiency: for heat signs caused by a deficiency of yin.
• Clears heat and reduces childhood malnutrition: when childhood nutritional impairment is present with afternoon fevers, abdominal distention, and dysentery.

Contraindications:

• Caution in cases of weak spleen and stomach.
